Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has approved the National Policy on Software Products 2019;
(b) if so, the details, the salient features and the objectives thereof;
(c) whether the Government has any target to achieve the growth of IT industry under the policy; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?
(a) and (b): Yes, Sir. Government has approved the National Policy on Software Products-2019 on February 28, 2019 with a vision to create a robust Indian Software Product development ecosystem leading to ten-fold increase in India share of the Global Software product market and so as to generate direct and in-direct employment for 3.5 million people by 2025.
(c) and (d): Through the various scheme and programme under the National Policy on Software Products, the Software IT Industry is estimated to grow up to ~ 60 - 70 billion USD by 2025.
