Question : Dual Domicility Issue

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the details of Dual Domicility provision under NEET;

(b) whether a number of medical admission in Government-private and deemed medical Universites have been made under the said provision and if so, the details thereof, during the last two years, year-wise;

(c) whether a number of cases have been filled so far with regard to dual domicility issues in various States and UTs in India and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the action taken in cases where there has been violations of norms and the views of the Government on Dual Domicility Clause?

(a) & (b): There is no requirement of domicile under NEET for admission to UG and PG medical courses in All India Quota seats and all Super – Specialty seats. The State Governments may impose condition for requirement of domicile for admission to medical courses in their respective State quota seats. The definition of domicile may vary from State to State.
(c) & (d): The Central Government has no role in the determination of domicile criteria by the States/UTs.
