(a) whether the production cost of Aluminium per ton of NALCO is cheaper than production cost of Aluminium per ton in Australia;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the reasons for higher market price of Indian aluminium than that of the Australian aluminium?

(a) & (b) The cost of production of Aluminium per tonne in NALCO, India and Tomago, Australia during the year 2000 was $ 1054 and $ 1126 respectively as per the data of CRU International.
(c) NALCO`s export sale price of metal is linked to London Metal Exchange price. The average price realised by NALCO per tonne of Aluminium metal for the Financial Year 2000-2001 in export market was US$ 1584.
