(a) to (e): Employees Provident Fund Organisation administers the Employees Pension Scheme, 1995 framed under the Employees Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions act, 1952. However, the National Old Age Pension Scheme which is a component of the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) had been administered by the Ministry of Rural Development until the year 2001-02. Planning Commission, after a review, transferred the Scheme to the State Plan from the year 2002-03. The funds are now being released as Additional Central Assistance to the State Plan. The total funds allocated under the National Old Age Pension Scheme during the Ninth Five Year Plan were of the order of Rs.2374.66 Crore. The details of number of beneficiaries reported by the States/UTs under the National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS) during the year 2001-2002 is Annexed.
