(a) whether the Government is aware of the fact that its another neighbouring country Myanmar has launched the programme of developing nuclear weapon capabilities;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto; and
(c) the steps being taken by the Government to safeguard India’s security and national interest?

(a) & (b): Government has seen media reports indicating that Myanmar has a nuclear
programme. Government of Myanmar has rejected these media reports as unfounded and fallacious.
(c): Government continuously monitors all developments having a bearing on national security
and is committed to taking all necessary steps to safeguard it.
