(a) whether it is a fact that the National Mission on Bamboo Application (NMBA) has developed certain new technologies for the low cost rural housing, earthquake resistant housing and prefabricated housing from bamboo based materials;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government to provide this new technology to the people, especially to poor in the rural and quake prone areas?

(a) to (c ) : The National Mission on Bamboo Applications has taken up the development of low cost rural housing, earthquake resistant housing and prefabricated housing from bamboo-based materials as a part of its programme of activities. Models of such housing are presently in the process of being developed, but have not yet been technologically finalised, evaluated and validated to enable them to be disseminated.
