(a) & (b) Prasar Bharati has informed that there has been a significant increase
in expenditure during the last two years and the current year on account of the
implementation of the recommendations of 6th CPC, even while there has been growth
in revenue earned by Prasar Bharati. The details of expenditure incurred and
revenue generated during the recent years are as follows:

Prasar Bharati being a public service broadcaster has to perform as per
the mandate on broadcasting and in accordance with established norms. Section 17
of Prasar Bharati Act provides that Government would make available financial
support for the purpose of enabling the Corporation to discharge its functions
efficiently under the Act by way of equity, grant-in-aid or loan.
