(a) whether a number of mobile companies which are providing their services in the country
without permission of the Government;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government has taken any action in this regard;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the norms for mobile companies for providing telecom services in the country?

(a) to (d) Madam, Inputs on the matter are being collected and will be laid on the Table
of the House.
(e) Under Section 4 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, Licence is granted to a company
registered under the Companies Act, 1956. A Licensee has to provide services as per Terms and
Conditions prescribed in the License Agreement.
