(a) The State of Gujarat is having about 1215 line km coastline;
(b) The Gujarat State has one major port and forty minor ports.
(c) During the last three years the Central Government has provided following assistance to the Gujrat State:
i) Rs. 687.64 lakh for Motorization of traditional fishing craft and Reimbursement of Central Excise Duty paid by the fishermen;
ii) Rs. 53.20 lakh for Integrated Coastal Aquaculture development; and
iii) Rs. 97 lakh for Development of Minor Ports and Fishing Harbours.
