(a) whether employment opportunities can be generated in Sarguja division of
Chhattisgarh by establishing industries owing to the presence of minerals alongwith
bauxite in abundance; and
(b) if so, the efforts being made by the Government in this regard?

(a) Availability of natural resources facilitates creation of opportunities for
commencement of mining and end-use activities based on minerals. However, the commencement
of such activities, which may then lead to creation of employment opportunities is subject
to obtaining necessary clearances under various legislations including environment and forest
clearance and availability of infrastructure facilities such as power and road connectivity,
investment capability of entrepreneurs, etc.
(b) There is no such proposal under consideration of the Government.
