(a) to (e) Directorate General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has a network of 12,106 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) (Government-2285 & Private-9821) which are the primary institutions for skilling in the Country. These ITIs affiliated under National Council for Vocational Training, impart training in 126 trades and awards ‘National Trade Certificate’ (NTC) which is recognized Nationally/Internationally. Details of these ITIs are given at Annexure-I.
Further, to promote private training providers across the Country, Government has set up National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) as a Public Private Partnership entity. As on 30th June, 2015, 211 NSDC affiliated training partners have 3669 operational training centres, including 745 mobile centres with coverage across the Country including Jammu & Kashmir (4 fixed and 2 mobile training centres). State-wise break-up of NSDC’s approved Training providers is attached at Annexure-II.
NSDC is provided financial support by the Government through National Skill Development Fund (NSDF). The NSDC uses these funds to scale up training capacity in the Country through its affiliated training partners. The setting up of new training centres is a continuous exercise. The details of allocation to NSDC and utilization of funds under different schemes are as under:-
