Question : DEVELOPMENT OF LAND BY DDA



(a) whether the Delhi Development Authority has allotted more than 10 acres of land to the Education Department of Delhi for Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science in the year 1996;

(b) if so, the reasons for delay in regard to the development works of the said land;

(c) whether another 4 acres of land was allotted to the said educational institution; and

(d) if so, the time by which the development work is likely to start and complete?

(a)to(c): The Delhi Development Authority has reported that Education Department of Delhi was allotted land measuring 10 acres for Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science (IGIPESS) at Sector-3, Rohini, Delhi and physical possession was given on 17.5.1996. It had further allotted another piece of land measuring 3 hectares (7.5 acres) to the Education Department, Government of NCT of Delhi adjoining this land for construction of the IGIPESS and physical possession of this land was handed over on 12.9.2001.

(d): As reported by the Delhi Development Authority, all the development work have since then been completed by it and services handed over to Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Jal Board.
