Question : SURVEYS BY WCL FOR POLLUTION

(a) whether the surveys with regard to pollution were carried out in Chandrapura district in Maharashtra State by the Western Coal Fields Limited;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any report has been submitted in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) No, Sir. However, regular environmental monitoring for air, water and noise pollution is carried out by WCL in all their mines and reports are submitted to state and central authorities.
