Question : EXPORT OF CASH CROPS



(a) whether financial assistance is provided by the Government for export of certain cash crops;

(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the names of the said crops;

(c) whether any uniform policy is not required for promotion of cash crops in the country; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam, the Government of India is taking various measures to boost export of cash crops namely tea, coffee, rubber, spices and cashew which includes providing financial and technical assistance to the growers and other stake holders, for participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, buyer-sellers meets, brand promotion, public relation campaign through Plan Schemes, etc.

(c) & (d) : The Export Policy for promotion of the cash crops in the country is prepared in line with the production, productivity, export destinations, demand and supply of the Commodity. Government of India announces policy measures as per the demand of the situation and could vary from crop to crop.
