(a) whether the Government has set targets to make Khadi industries more profitable and market driven;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the achievements made in this regard; and
(c) the details of the funds provided for the purpose and its utilisation?

(a): Government in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) supplements the efforts
of the State Governments in promotion and holistic development of khadi and village industries sector by
implementing a number of Schemes through Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) with a view to make
such activities sustainable and improve marketability of their products. No specific targets, as such,
have been set by the Government to make khadi industries more profitable and market driven.
(b) & (c): The details of the major schemes, the funds provided, utilized and achievements made
during XI Plan under them are given in Annex.
