Question : Common Service Centres

Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government proposes to expand common service centres to Gram Panchayats under Digital India Programme and if so, the details therefore;
(b) the total number of Gram Panchayats connected with common service centres under Digital India Programme, State/UT-wise including Telangana;
(c) whetheranytime-limit has been prescribed by the Government for connecting all the Gram Panchayats with the said service in the country including Telangana and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) thenumber of services available at these centres along with the details thereof?

Answer given by the minister

(a): Yes, Sir. This Ministry initiated Common Services Centre (CSC-2.0: A Way Forward) Project in August, 2015 under pillar-3 of Digital India for the delivery of Government-to-Citizens (G2C) and other e-Services to citizens within their locality. It aims to establish at-least one Common Services Centre in each Gram Panchayat to cover all the 2.50 lakh Gram Panchayats in the country.

(b): Total 2.41 lakh Gram Panchayatshave one or more functional CSCs. The States/UTs-wise details of these Common Services Centres (CSCs) at Gram Panchayat level is placed at Annexure-I.

(c): Time limit was set by Government to cover all Gram Panchayats by March 2020. Details of progress is at Annexure-I.

(d): There are more than 370 services are available on CSC’s Digital Seva Portal.List of key services available on CSC’s Digital Seva Portal is placed at Annexure-II.
