Question : Setting up of MSMEs

(a) whether the Government has prepared any concrete industrial policy/action plan to set up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand so as to provide permanent employment and check migration keeping in view that people are continuously migrating from such places, particularly from Pauri Garhwal and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government has any proposal to set up more MSMEs in the country including industrially backward Perambalur region of Tamil Nadu and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(c) the total number of MSMEs set up in the country including in Perambalur during the last three years ?

(a) & (b): The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) implements various schemes and programmes for promotion and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country. These include the schemes/programmes such as Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), A Scheme for Promoting Innovation, Rural Industry and Entrepreneurship (ASPIRE), Credit Guarantee Scheme, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS), Micro and Small Enterprises - Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), etc.

These programmes and schemes are aimed at creating conducive environment for the MSMEs to grow across the country and promote employment generation.

(c): As per Udyog Aadhar Memorandum data, the total number of MSMEs registered in the Country and specifically in the Perambalur District in Tamilnadu during last three years is given in the Table below:
