Question : Cancer Research Institute in Rajasthan

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether India has the highest number of cancer cases in the world, if so, the details thereof;
(b) the number of cancer cases reported, State/UT/ district-wise particularly Churu district of Rajasthan;
(c) whether the Government proposes to set up Cancer Research Institutes for prevention and treatment of cancer in Rajasthan; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken thereon?

(a): No.
(b): As per Indian Council of Medical Research’s Cancer Registry data report on “National Cancer Registry Programme Report, 2020”, the estimated number of cancer cases in the country reported for 2020 State/UT wise is at Annexure.
(c) & (d) No.
