(a) whether the tribals living in Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh are living under miserable conditions;
(b) if so, the reasons for ignoring the problems being faced by these tribals; and
(c) the main projects being worked out by the Union Government for their welfare?

(a) (b) & (c) No such report has come to the notice of this Ministry. However, the Union Government has already adopted Tribal Sub Plan strategy with he objectives of
(i) bringing the tribals on par with other sections of the society and
(ii) protecting them from exploitation. The TSP strategy is in operation in 21 States and 2 Union Territories, including the State of Andhra Pradesh. There are 8 ITDPs, 9 MADA Pockets and 10 Clusters functioning in the State. The ITDP at Paderu and Clusters at Sammida and Sankaram are functioning at Vishkhapatnam District. Besides, this Ministry has been implementing various schemes for the overall socio-economic development of the tribals. The details of funds released to Andhra Pradesh during the last three years under the schemes of this Ministry are given at Annexure-I
