Question : Bilateral Issues on Health Cooperation

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether Mauritius and Government of India have discussed bilateral issues on health cooperation recently;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the issues involved therein; and

(c) whether a Joint Working Group has been constituted by Mauritius for health cooperation and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Yes, a bilateral meeting was held with Minister of Health and Quality of Life, Mauritius on 18th March, 2016 at New Delhi to discuss issues on health cooperation.

(c): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between India and Mauritius on 12th March, 2013 for cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine with the purpose to strengthen collaboration in the health sector. In pursuance of Article 7 of the MoU, Working Group from the Indian side was constituted in August, 2014 to further elaborate the details of cooperation and to oversee the implementation of the said MoU. However, no Working Group from the Mauritius side has so far been constituted.
