Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR POWER AND NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY (I/C)
(SHRI R.K. SINGH)

(a) and (b): The Government have approved development of one solar park in Uttar Pradesh for generation of solar energy with a capacity of 440 MW. Its developer is M/s Lucknow Solar Power Development Corporation Ltd (LSPDCL); a Joint Venture Company of Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI). Around 2300 acres of land have already been identified at Orai & Kalpi Tehsil of Jalaun, Chaanbe Tehsil of Mirzapur, Meja Tehsil of Allahabad and Akbarpur Tehsil of Kanpur Dehat district for the proposed solar park. Solar projects of 75 MW at Mirzapur site, 50 MW at Allahabad site and 40 MW at Dakore site (Jalaun) are at different stages of execution.

(c) and (d): Of the three projects allocated in solar park, construction of solar power plants at Allahabad and Mirzapur have been completed. The solar plant at Dakor site is being set up. External power evacuation system for all three sites of Solar Park is under construction by the State Transmission Utility (STU) i.e Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (UPPTCL). STU is doing the construction on deposit work basis. The commissioning of Solar Park has been delayed due to delay in construction of transmission system at all the three sites and in getting forest clearance from certain portions covered under forest at Mirzapur site.

(e) and (f): The Union Government continuously monitors the progress of solar parks through regular review meetings with the State and other stake holders.
