Question : Land acquired near Forest Areas

(a) whether the Government is facing obstacle in acquiring land for construction of road in and around forest areas;

(b) if so, the details of number of projects stopped due to this reason; and

(c) if not, the details of distance covered under newly constructed or to be constructed road in and around forest area?

(a) and (b) Yes, Madam. Presently 51 number of projects covering length about 2782 km of National Highways have been affected due to land acquisition in and around forest areas.

(c) Does not arise.
