Question : Funding from France

Will the Minister of URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government of France has agreed to double the credit line to India for sustainable Urban Development Projects;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether it is proposed to finance three Metro Rail Projects under the above funding; and
(d) if so, the details of these projects with location?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO)

(a): Yes, Madam.

(b): The Government of France has increased development assistance from Euro 1 billion to Euro 2 billion to finance urban development projects in India.

(c)& (d): French Government has made commitments for two Metro Rail Projects namely Bangalore Metro Phase-II (Euro 200 million) and Kochi Metro Rail (Euro 180 million). Details are given in Annexure.
