Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DISINVESTMENT, MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRIES OF PLANNING, STATISTICS & PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE REFORMS AND PUBLIC GRIEVANCES (SHRI ARUN SHOURIE)

(a) to (c) Government has decided not to disinvest in Hindustan Latex Ltd. for the present. It is not appropriate to compare Hindustan Cables Ltd. with Hindustan Latex Ltd. The decision for disinvestment in HCL is as part of the policy of the Government that in generality of cases the Government shareholding in public sector enterprises in the non-strategic sector will be brought down to 26 per cent.
