Stations of the country including Gujarat, State-wise and AIR Station-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to broadcast the regional news from Vadodara, Rajkot and Godhara AIR Stations; and

(a) Officers of Indian Information Service (IIS) Group’B’Senior Grade are posted as
Correspondent/ News Reporter in various Regional News Units (RNUs) at AIR Stations. Out of 45
sanctioned posts of Correspondents/News Reporters, 23 are in position with about 50% vacancy
at various AIR Stations ( details enclosed at annexure)
(b) & (c) The regional news bulletins originating from AIR, Ahmedabad are relayed by Vadodara,
Rajkot and Godhara AIR Stations. Five headline bulletins of 2-minute each produced by
Regional News Unit (RNU) Ahmedabad are also broadcast by AIR, Vadodara. However, in the 11th
Plan SFC Proposal, it is proposed to start a Regional News Unit (RNU) at Rajkot in Gujarat,
on approval of which regional news can be produced and broadcast from there. NSD has no plans
to start Regional News bulletins from Vadodara and Godhara, AIR Stations at present.
