Question : Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme

(a) the total funds sanctioned/released and utilised and the number of beneficiaries under the various schemes under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the country during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;

(b) the criteria/guidelines laid down by the Government to sanction/release funds under the said programme;

(c) whether the Government has received any complaints regarding non-compliance of the said guidelines in sanctioning funds under PMEGP during the said period; and

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the corrective action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): State-wise allocation of margin money subsidy which is treated as target as also the achievements in term of the margin money subsidy utilized, the corresponding number of projects assisted and estimated employment generated during the last three years and current year is given at Annex I.

(b): State-wise targets are allotted on the parameters of population, backwardness, unemployment, past performance etc. and the same criteria is also adopted at State level during allocation of targets to the Districts. Margin Money subsidy is released to a State in two installments of 50% each. The first installment is released when the State has utilized at least 60% of the margin money subsidy released to it during the previous year after fully utilizing all previous years’ releases. The second installment is released when the State has utilized at least 60% of current year’s release after fully utilizing all previous years’ releases.
