(a) to (d): Yes, Madam. In order to harness the Potential of Eastern Indian Plains for enhancing agricultural production, a programme “Bringing Green Revolution in Eastern India (BGREI)” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) was announced in the Union Budget, 2010-11. This programme is being implemented in the States of Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal with the objective of increasing productivity of rice based cropping systems through promotion of recommended agriculture technologies and packages of practices by addressing the underlying constraints of different agro-climatic sub regions. The State Level Sanctioning Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary is vested with the authority to sanction projects under RKVY, including BGREI. A statement indicating the funds allocated and released to the States including Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh under RKVY & BGREI during last three years is annexed (Annexure-I). The implementation of these and other schemes of the Department has resulted in increased food grain production in the States of Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand (Annexure-II).
