Question : Taxes-Tariffs Exemption to MSMEs

(a) whether the Government has any proposal to exempt taxes and tariffs to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which are willing to invest in various regions in the country including Bihar, Delhi/NCR, Bundelkhand region and North-Eastern region in near future;

(b) if so, the details and the current status thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the steps taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (d): Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has a Scheme for providing budgetary support to the units located in States of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and North Eastern States including Sikkim under Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. The Scheme provides benefits of GST reimbursement of Central Government’s share of Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) & Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) to the industrial units.
