Question : PRIVATE NURSING COLLEGES IN RAJASTHAN



(a) the number of Nursing colleges opened in private sector in Rajasthan during the current year;

(b) whether 50 percent admission quota has been given to the Management Committees of these colleges;

(c) whether these colleges have also been recognised by the Indian Medical Council; and

(d) if so, the reasons therefor?

(a): As per information furnished by the Indian Nursing Council, Seven Schools and one college have applied to the Council for starting GNM & BSc. (Nursing) Programmes respectively.

(b): The Government of Rajasthan has intimated that the procedure for the admissions in private nursing schools and colleges would be as per the criteria laid down by Hon`ble Supreme Court in case of Unnikrishanan J.P. versus State of Andhra Pradesh and others;

(c): No, Sir. The Nursing institutions are recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

(d): Does not arise.
