Question : More Powers to DGCA

(a) whether the Government has decided to further empower the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to effectively regulate core activities in the aviation sector;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of violations by airlines and the airports which came to the notice of DGCA in the past three years and action recommended/taken by the DGCA;

(d) whether the Government has taken any action on the recommendations of DGCA on such violations; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) A new Civil Aviation Policy has recently been finalized wherein a decision has been taken to give more administrative, financial and functional autonomy to DGCA to ensure safety and regulation of core activities of Aviation sector.

(c) to (e) The details of violations by Airlines/ Airports where enforcement actions was taken by DGCA is attached as Annexure-A.
