(a) & (b): The number of districts covered under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) in Telangana and Maharashtra are as under:

(c): The overall objective of the BBBP Scheme is to address the issue of decline in Child Sex Ratio and create an enabling environment for education of the girl child.Child Sex Ratio (Census by Registrar General of India) is a decadal process. Hence, an intermediary targets i.e. Sex Ratio at Birth have been set as a monitoring parameter for the progress of Scheme. SRB (as per Health Management Information System (HMIS) of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) has shown an improving trend of 16 points at National level from 918 (2014-15) to 934 (2019-20). The State/UT wise SRB of 2014-15 and 2019-20 is at Annexure-I.

(d): The total amount allocated under the scheme to different States/UTs and utilized so far is at Annexure II.

(e) & (f) The Government reviews the success of the Scheme at various levels viz., at national level by a National Task Force headed by Secretary, Women & Child Development, at State level by State Task Force headed by the Chief Secretary and at district level, by the District Task Force headed by District Collector/Deputy Commissioner.

Note: The total amount available for a particular year includes amount released to the district in that year plus the amount unspent from previous year. Release in any year is made after adjusting the unspent amount of previous year. In 2020-21, UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and UT of Daman & Diu were merged hence the total amount available for FY 2020-21 for the newly created UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu is Rs. 71.89 lakh. State of West Bengal, has not implemented multi-sectoral intervention of BBBP scheme.
