(a) whether the National Highway in Tripura and in other States of north-east are proposed to be expanded by two lanes;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government have examined the priority areas of the roads; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)&(b) Provision of widening to two-lane of 260.44 km of National Highways in the North Eastern States including 21.10 km in Tripura is made in the Annual Plan 2000-01.
(c)&(d) The improvement works on National Highways are being planned based on traffic volume, condition of roads, interse priority and availability of funds.
