Question : SECURITY RELATED EXPENDITURE SCHEME



(a) the total funds allocated to the Security Related Expenditure Scheme (SRES) during each of the last three years;

(b) the total funds utilised during the above period;

(c) whether the Government has chalked out any roadmap to utilise the remaining funds under SRES to fight against naxal, maoist and terrorism; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(c) to (d): Security related expenditure is reimbursed to State Governments under this Scheme. The State Governments prepare their need-based annual plans within the ambit of the guidelines prescribed under the Scheme. On-account advance is provided to the State Governments for smooth and timely implementation. Reimbursement of actual expenditure incurred by the State Governments is periodically made by the Central Government. State Governments are continuously urged to ensure timely and qualitative utilization of funds under this Scheme.
