(a) whether the Government are aware that underground fire threatens to 10.5 long stretch Bagdigi Railway line on Dhanbad-Pathardih route:
(b) if so, whether this is a serious threat for goods and human lives as per the team of the World Bank; and
(c) if so, the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in the matter?

(c) M/s Bharat Cooking Coal Limited has initiated filling up the trench, which had been dug-up earlier, with earth or sand and are using water for restricting the spread of the fire. As an additional precautionary measure, Railway has imposed speed restriction of 20 kilometer per hour between Lodhna and Patherdih station on train movement. Track patrolling is also being done in the area.
