(a) whether the Government proposes to set-up three manufacturing zones for critical power and renewable energy equipment that were announced in this year’s budget and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government proposes to set-up one of the three proposed critical power and renewable energy equipment manufacturing zones in the State of Andhra Pradesh; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) : Out of the three Manufacturing Zones for Power and Renewable Energy Equipment proposed by Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; Ministry of Finance has accorded approval for setting up one Manufacturing Zone initially as a Pilot with an indicative outlay of Rs. 400 crore.
The selection of location for setting up of Manufacturing Zones is to be based on pre-identified parameters. All States or Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) may participate in the selection process.
