(a) Yes.
(b) The Government of India has signed an Extradition Treaty as also an
Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Persons with the Government of Israel.
Both the Treaty and the Agreement were signed during the visit of the
External Affairs Minister to Israel from 9-11 January 2012. The Extradition
Treaty will provide a legal framework for seeking extradition of fugitive
criminals between the Contracting States while the Agreement on Transfer of
Sentenced Persons provides the opportunity to persons of each Contracting
State sentenced in the other to serve their sentences in their own country.
