(a) whether the Union Government has prepared a scheme to give assistance to Gaushalas;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of the Gaushalas in the Country, State-wise; and
(d) the details of funds provided by the Government to the various States during the last three years and the current year, State-wise?

(a) & (b): The Department has been implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme namely ‘National Livestock Mission’ under which funds are given to the States including Gaushalas for grassland development. Ministry of Environment and Forests through Animal Welfare Board of India is also implementing following schemes for providing assistance to Gaushalas:
(i) Animal Welfare Board of India Plan Scheme.
(ii) Provision of Shelter House for Looking After Animals
(iii) Provision of Ambulance Service for Animals in Distress
(iv) Natural Calamity Relief The Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry Dairying & Fisheries also provides opportunities to Livestock Development Boards to take up breeding programme in Gaushalas if same is recommended by the State Governments.

(d) The year-wise and State-wise funds released for grassland development is given at Annexure-II.
