(a) the time by when Kaiga Atomic Power Plant is likely to become completely functional;
(b) whether it has come to the notice of the Government that many people whose land hasbeen acquired by the Centre are yet to receive compensation;
(c) if so, the steps taken by the Centre to provide compensation to all those who have lost their land;
(d) whether jobs will also be given to such families whose land has been acquired; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Units 1&2 of Kaiga Atomic Power Project (KGS- 1&2) are already in operation since the year 2000. Units 3 & 4 are presently under construction. These units are scheduled to commence commercial operations by March 2007 (Unit-3) and September 2007 (Unit-4)

(c) & (d) A comprehensive compensation and rehabilitation package worked out by the
Karnataka State Government for the Project Affected Persons of the Kaiga Atomic
Power Project was implemented and completed in 1993-94.
(e) Not applicable in view of (c) & (d) above.
