(a), (c) & (d): TEQIP-III aims at improving quality and equity in engineering institutions in 19
focus States in which 7 are Low Income States (Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh,
Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh), 3 are hilly States (Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir
and Uttarakhand), 8 are North-Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya,
Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) and Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

(b) TEQIP III provides financial assistance to students of selected AICTE approved
engineering colleges for:

i. Induction programme for the first year students
ii. Student internships at IITs, NITs, IIM and other reputed institutions
iii. Industry visits
iv. Exit exam training
v. Re-imbursement of GATE registration fee.
