Question : Rehabilitation of Families Displaced due to Projects

(a) whether the Government has not rehabilitated the families displaced due to the Subarnarekha multipurpose and Gitalsaud irrigation projects in Jharkhand;

(b) if so, the number of families displaced by the above mentioned projects so far;

(c) the number out of aforesaid families not rehabilitated so far and the reasons for the same; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to rehabilitate the deprived families as per the rules so far and the success achieved as a result thereof?

(a) to (d) As per information provided by the State Government, 21356 families have been displaced due to Subernarekha project.

The details of rehabilitation benefits under different schemes of existing Rehabilitation Policy provided to Displaced Families of Subernarekha Project are as follows:
Persons provided job Families provided self employment grant Families provided House building grant Families provided Life Maint. Grant Families provided shifting grant Families provided Land Families provided cash in lieu of land.

Further, State Government has informed that Gitalsaud scheme is not an irrigation project and was constructed for power generation and drinking water supply. As per records of District Administration, Displaced Families of Getalsaud Reservoir Scheme were rehabilitated in Chakla Village, Block-Ormanjhi and payment of compensation to almost all affected families against acquired land was paid.
