(a) whether the Railways have received any request from the Government of Goa to provide at least two Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) or Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) trains daily from Pernem to Canacona;
(b) if so, whether the Railways have considered their request; and
(c) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Railways in this regard?

(a) to (c): A request, though not in writing, has been made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, for introduction of DEMU train between Pernem & Canacona. In response, necessary instruction has been issued to concerned Zonal Railway for extension of 70101/70102 Kawar-Madgaon DEMU & 70103/70104 Karwar-Madgaon DEMU upto Pernem to connect Canacona with Pernem.
