(a) & (b) On the occasion of Passport Seva Divas, a prototype of an Android based ‘mPassport Police’ app, aimed at speedy police verification, was presented. The app would have the capability to capture passport applicant’s personal particulars and photograph and transmit the same electronically to concerned stakeholders. The app, after development and testing, should be available for actual use in 2016.
