(a) whether Telephone Advisory Committee have become redundant with the participation of Private Companies in the business of providing basic telephone services;
(b) Whether Government have made any review in this regard;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) No Sir.
(b)&(c ) Yes sir. The Telephone Advisory Committees have been re-organised so as to have an appropriate mechanism for associating the public representatives with grievance redressal system with a view to making the telephone services offered by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) more responsive in the emerging competitive scenario.
(d) Does not arise in view of (b) & (c ) above.
