Question : OUTSTANDING DUES



(a) whether certain companies which have defaulted to pay licence fees have been allowed to bid for further cellular licence;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(c) the steps taken to recover the dues?

(a) to (c): Sir, there is no restriction at the stage of bidding for further cellular licence by a defaulting company. However, successful bidder company shall furnish, before signing the licence agreement, `No Dues Certificate` from Department of Telecommunications in respect of all payments arising out of any licence granted under Section 4 of Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 (including Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933) to the successful bidder company or any promoter/partner or associate/sister concern thereof.
