(a) whether the Railways had taken up the recruitment of“D†Group post in various Railway Zones all over the country;
(b) if so, the details of such recruitment process Zone-wise;
(c) whether the process of such recruitment in any of the Zones has been stalled; and
(d) if so, the reasons for such suspension of recruitment process after it was once started?

(a) Yes, Sir. Exercise for recruitment of Group ‘D’ staffis underway on some zonal railways.
(b) Information is being collected and will be laid on the Table of the Sabha.
(c) & (d) Yes, Sir. In case of South Western Railway, the recruitment process has been stalled
due to demand from local groups for limiting recruitment to local youths only. As regards
Northern Railway, the recruitment exercise itself has been cancelled owing to leakage of question
paper.
