(a) the number of corporate units running in profit or loss respectively;
(b) the efforts being made to strengthen the corporate units (industries) in this era of competition; and
(c) the efforts being made to convert the units running in losses currently into profit making units?

(a): The term “Corporate Unit” is not defined in the Companies Act. However, as per the records maintained in the MCA portal, number of companies which are running in profits during the financial year 2018-19 is 3,99,080 and number of companies which are running in losses during the financial year 2018-19 in India is 3,29,793 .
(b) &(c): The Government in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) administers the Companies Act, Limited Liabilities Partnership Act. The term “Industries” does not fall under the jurisdiction of MCA and therefore, information of MCA is NIL. However, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has also provided NIL information in this regard.
