Question : Separate University for AYUSH

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has any proposal to set up separate university for AYUSH in order to promote various disciplines under AYUSH and if so, the details thereof;

(b) the number of colleges set up under this scheme so far, State/UT-wise including Maharashtra and Rajasthan;

(c) whether the State Governments of Maharashtra and Rajasthan have sent any proposal to the Government for setting up of AYUSH universities;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government thereon along with the time by which the said proposals are likely to be approved by the Government; and

(e) whether the Government is likely to help in discontinuing old practices and beliefs which are still present in the system and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The Government has not received any proposal to set up separate university for AYUSH in order to promote various disciplines under AYUSH.
(c) & (d): The State Governments of Maharashtra and Rajasthan has not sent any proposal to the Government for setting up of AYUSH universities.
(e): All AYUSH education institutes are imparting education according to the Indian Medicine Central Council (Minimum standards of education in Indian Medicine) amendment regulations and Homeopathic (Degree course) Regulations.
