(a) the total number of shooters registered with National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) at present;
(b) the number of such shooters registered with NRAI who have not participated in any tournament since the last one year or so and the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government proposes to terminate the membership of such shooters; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)&(b) National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) which is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports as the National Sports Federation (NSF) responsible for promotion of shooting sport has informed that the number of shooters registered with them is 8205 at present. About 10% of the total number of registered shooters have not participated in any competition since last one year due to various reasons, such as financial constraints school/ college/board exams, etc.
(c) No, Madam.
(d) Annual members continue to be on roll as long as they pay subscription fee. Others are life members, Government does not interfere in such internal matters of federations.
