Answer given by the minister

Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION

(Shri Jayant Sinha)

(a) & (b): The airport at Hisar belongs to the State Government of Haryana. Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India (GoI) has received a proposal from Government of Haryana (GoH) for development of Hisar as International Airport/Integrated Aviation Hub. The proposal is processed as per Greenfield Airport Policy 2008 and comments of Airports Authority of India (AAI), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Ministry of Defence (MoD) has been sought on the proposal.;

(c) & (d): The State Government has forwarded a proposal to develop Hisar and Karnal airports under the Regional Connectivity Scheme. However, selection of the airports under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) is ''demand driven'', i.e. depending on firm demand from the airline operators on a particular route and also subject to the State Government''s commitment to provide various concessions envisaged in the Policy.
