Question : SURVEY OF NEW BROAD GAUGE LINE BETWEEN JEYPORE-NOWARANGPUR

(a) whether the survey of new Broad Gauge Rail Line from Jeypore to Nowarangpur in Orissa has been completed;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the estimated cost of the project;

(d) the time by which the work on the said project is likely to be started and completed; and

(e) if not, the reasons for delay alongwith the revised target for completion?

(a): No, Sir. However, fieldwork of survey has been completed.

(b) to (d): Do not arise.

(e): A large number of surveys are in progress on the zonal Railway. These have been programmed to be completed in a phased manner. The survey report is expected during 2003–04.
